It has been a while since I wrote my last article !!!!!
I wanted to share an update regarding dealing with ambiguity. Having completed my MBA from one of the top B schools in the world, I wanted to share some of my recent experiences about working in the corporate organization and what they might now teach you at a B School.
According to my research following factors may help you with dealing with ambiguity
1. Suppress your urge to control things.
This is very helpful. There is no need to aim to control all aspects of a project.
2. Learn to act without the complete picture.
One has to understand that you will never have all the information to complete a task. Make the best decision based on the data.
3. Understand that some of the decisions will be wrong.
Once you realize that you have made a decision, you have to understand that not all decisions will be right. As a matter of fact most the decisions you make can and most likely may turn out to be sub-optimal.
Just Move on !
4. Work on your flexibility.
Be willing to adapt and change your modus operandi once there is a change in the environment or change in leadership or due to an manager causing problems.
5. Learn to deal with uncertainty.
You need to be comfortable with uncertainty. But also understand that never lose yourselves. One has to understand that although one adapts to the current environment you will always be yourself.
